Monday Inspiration 5.12.14

I think so often it’s easy to lose focus and to fall into old patterns of measuring yourself according to others instead of how God sees you. Carl Lentz said it best “becoming obsessed with what God thinks of you is the quickest way to forget what people think and say about you”. God sees the heart, he sees the total picture and so that is a better measure of a person than what any human/limited view could be.

One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 43 1-4 (MSG)

But now, God’s Message,
the God who made you in the first place…
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That’s how much you mean to me!
That’s how much I love you!
I’d sell off the whole world to get you back,
trade the creation just for you.

You mean so much to God. None of God’s creations in all of the world are worth keeping if he can’t have you. When you have nothing else to give and are overwhelmed He is with you. He will never let you sink. Right now is not the end all be all. He created you. He will sustain you.

My prayer today is that I continue to grow in my understanding of truly how deeply understood and loved I am by my Father. He knows the truth of who I am even when others may misinterpret it. He is always with me, on my side, protecting me and reminding me how much I mean to Him.
