Tuesday Inspiration 5.13.14

It will probably never cease to amaze me that God is jealous for me. He longs to talk to me and wants to be my #1. I was just thinking today about all sorts of different ways God has spoken to me this year so far and while it’s exciting a part of me wonders how I was missing out before this. I think we can all beat ourselves up thinking we were doing something wrong, but if God is my Father, then as I grow up in the faith and grow in age, He will communicate to me in ways that match where I am at. For example, He would know me well enough at age 5 to only tell me things a child would be able to handle or understand. He would never confuse me by trying to show me things only a 26 year old would understand.
One of the most exciting verses is found in Jeremiah 33 (MSG):

2-3 “This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’

Therefore as I grow up and He continues to be faithful and jealous for time with me, to tell me things, to show me things, His relationship with me must also mature/evolve. But one thing remains–He will show me things that I could never figure out on my own.

Another verse that I enjoy is James 1 (MSG):

16-18 So, my very dear friends, don’t get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures.

Unlike human relationships God is who He was, who He is, and who He forever will be. You will never hear a friend of yours say “I don’t know what’s with Jesus..He changed” like how a friend might say about someone you knew. We are jewels of creation. Princes and Princesses of the King. And he wants to show us off. He wants to bestow every desirable and beneficial gift. And that, will never change. His love is relentless.
