Thursday Inspiration 7.10.14

Even though I grew up in the church and got saved at a young age, I still struggle with God’s love for me. I want to understand it like you understand it on a human level when someone tells you they love you and shows you enough that you are drowning in it. Not just looking at everything through rose-colored glasses but with rose-colored eyes.

I have never really struggled with seeing people with rose-colored eyes. I care for people. I am a people-person. But with God it can be difficult. I think that’s normal and I think understanding God completely is a journey that we will never fully complete until Heaven when everything will be seen with perfect clarity.

This was my devotion today on the Bible app from “Good Morning Girls”:

God reached out and loved us when we were unlovely, and we need to follow Christ’s example and reach out to those God has placed in our lives to show His love. The love we have for each other reflects the love God has for the world. If we want those who do not know God to understand that He is kind, good and loving, we need to reflect those attributes to a hurting and love-starved word. Since God is invisible, we are His reflection to the world.”

I love the remind to love others. In scripture it puts it like this in 1 John 4: 11-12 (MSG):

“My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!”

So let’s remember to reflect love today an to pursue a deeper understanding of God’s love for us individually.
