Psalm 46 ESV
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
What a powerful picture this is—God in he midst of her. In the midst of me as a woman. In the midst of the her that is his bride–the Church. We will not be shaken—because God will help when the morning starts. His mercies are new every morning.
By the very power of his voice the earth can melt. Imagine the entire Earth melting! But this is Our God.
I found out the other day that my old co-worker got the job I recommended her for and although there was at first (about a month ago) some jealousy over the position and her salary I am glad that I could help lift her out of a bad situation and into a better one. As a daughter of God, as a Christian I have the power to overcome because Christ is in me, and in you. The same power that conquered the grave lives in me and so we need to live in the victory even when the end seems far off.
Thank God it’s Friday. Thank God for His power in our lives.
