I was reading this devotional last night and I was quite intrigued by this story. I have never heard about Ben Breedlove and so I looked him up on YouTube.
Similar to “Heaven is for Real” and other accounts of people with near death experiences, Ben had his first visit into Heaven at age 4, and had a few others thereafter. He felt very calm and peaceful and everything was very white. Other than that he didn’t see much in those visions, but he felt no fear.
The first thing that caught my attention was the music in the background when his first video started. Two weeks ago I performed at Hillsong NYC’s Conference to the exact song: “Mad World” by Gary Jules. If you look up the lyrics it’s kind of a dark song because it talks about the world and how we all go through the motions. Life is meaningless outside of God.
And I find it kinda funny I find it kinda sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
It takes on a different meaning when you watch the videos and know Ben’s story and how he wishes that he didn’t come back to Earth..Heaven was THAT good.
I liked this devotional because it reminds us that we don’t have to be scared to die…Heaven is worth it.
