Wednesday Inspiration 11.5.14

I saw this video yesterday and it gave me chills. As a Christian you see both sides over the course of your life–the answer to prayer and the miracle or the disappointment of a prayer that God heard but it wasn’t the outcome you hoped for. I think so often we can find ourselves on either side of this–hopeful for a good outcome or prepared for the worst. Watch the video below:

Praise God right? He is always good whether the prayer goes our way or not. I’ve known people who have been pregnant knowing their baby was not going to live after delivery. I’ve known people who have been forced to carry their baby to full term even though it is no longer alive. These are horrifying situations. No one deserves them. God isn’t punishing them.

I think regardless of the outcome we need to be ready to receive from God. He need to be full of faith for His miracle or we need to be full of faith that everything will work together for our good whether we get what we ask for or not.

Proverbs 3 MSG

1-2 Good friend, don’t forget all I’ve taught you;
    take to heart my commands.
They’ll help you live a long, long time,
    a long life lived full and well.

Romans 8 MSG

18-21 That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.
